WHY ORGANIZE A PIT CAREER FAIR FOR LAWYERS?

Public interest technology is an emerging field, and a new cast of characters is involved in employing early career professionals interested in PIT and access to justice—these institutional relationships must be forged and nurtured. Law students with interest in PIT careers need the same kind of recruitment and hiring infrastructure currently offered for traditional career pathways in entry-level corporate firm positions and in-house legal or technologist roles in established technology firms. The Law & PIT Career Exploration Fair is a step toward this goal.  The four major law schools across the Philadelphia metro area have come together to let law students know that there is no one designated path to this field, or any base level of tech knowledge required to enter. If you’re someone whose work is fueled by their values and enjoys working on interdisciplinary teams, public interest tech could be for you!

Where is the event?

The event will take place in Klein Hall at the Temple Beasley School of Law which is located at 1719 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19122. You can find more detailed directions and a campus map here (Directions & Parking – Temple Law).

WHERE CAN I PARK?

The Liacouras Parking Garage is the most easily accessible visitor parking lot for the Law School and costs $20/day (no cash payment accepted). The address for the garage is 1776 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19122, but note that you will need to enter from 15th street. There is also limited street parking available which can be paid or unpaid and possibly time limited, depending on where you park.
