2025 Law & Public Interest Technology Career Exploration Fair
Â
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the 2025 virtual fair and in-person networking session, and for those who made it possible!
The virtual Law & Public Interest Technology Career Fair took place on February 8th, 2025, with e an in-person Networking Reception at Drexel’s Institute of Trial Advocacy the night before, on February 7th, 2025.
It was a huge success, and we already can’t wait to bring you the next one in 2026. In the meantime, check out the highlights of this years’ career fair below.
What is the career fair?
The 2025 virtual Law & Public Interest Technology Career Fair is co-organized by Temple Beasley School of Law, Penn-Carey School of Law, Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, and Drexel Kline School of Law. Our objectives in organizing this event are to introduce our law students to the emerging field of public interest technology (PIT), to aid them in navigating professional pathways to build careers in PIT and related fields of technology policy, civil rights and social justice work, to provide a dedicated networking opportunity for students and potential employers, and to strengthen a community of practice across our institutions and within our region. Â
The Law & PIT Career Fair focuses on protecting and expanding access to justice in increasingly digital-dominated societies, as well as promoting diversity in law and PIT career pathways among women, people of color, LGBTQ+ and people from disadvantaged economic backgrounds. Now in its second year, the event sets an important precedent for legal programs across the country by offering more structured pathways, like those utilized in traditional legal job recruitment processes, to aid job seekers who have an interest in legal careers that focus on digital civil rights, tech accountability, and expanding the use of technology and data as public goods serving meaningful public interest goals. Â
What can I expect?
For employers and students located in or able to travel to Philadelphia, we will host an in-person networking event on Friday evening, February 7. This networking will allow students and employers with a passion to fuse law, technology and the public interest to gather together and engage in discussion and community building.  Â
The virtual career fair on Saturday, February 8 provides employers and students with multiple ways to explore what professional work in the field of public interest technology looks like for legal professionals. Â
We have designed the program flexibly, to provide multiple participation options for employers and students. These include:Â Â
- Formal and mock interview slots for summer internships and/or post-graduate roles Â
- Informational sessions about your organization Â
- Resume drop-offs Â
- In-person Networking Reception Â
